The convergence of Washington and Moscow behind Orbán is striking, but the more important question is structural: why does this convergence exist at all? Both Trump and Putin benefit from a fragmented Europe that cannot act collectively. Orbán is not the cause of that fragmentation. He is its most useful symptom. As long as one member state can block EU decisions on Ukraine, sanctions, and energy, the collective capacity of Europe remains hostage to the electoral outcomes of 10 million Hungarians. That is the vulnerability worth examining.

Perhaps they need to kick Hungary out of the EU. Europe is fragmenting again (with plenty of help from Russia).

There is no legal mechanism to expel a member state. But the deeper problem is that removing Hungary would not solve the structural issue. The EU's unanimity requirements mean that any member state can hold collective decisions hostage. Hungary is the most visible example, not the only one. The real question is whether the EU can reform its decision-making rules to require qualified majority on foreign policy, not just on trade. That is the reform that matters, and it is far harder than removing one government.

Why I am not Catholic, or proud to be an American anymore….Pope Leo will not condemn mobsters like The Don and all his Catholic in Claim Only Capos like Vance, Rubio, Homan, Cruz….and the President of the United States palling around with terrorists like Putin, Xi, Un…Orban….We the People need to de -Trumpify RIGHT NOW. Resistance and confrontation with all things TRUMPISM is not futile, it is your moral duty. God HELP U.S. Please take him away

I think it’s high time people separate politics from religion. The Founding Fathers of the United States Constitution sincerely knew what they were talking about, and it is vital to all of humanity that we get our heads back on straight.

That's ridiculous. Give Pope Leo time. Pope Francis was obviously against Trump and Putin, and Pope Leo has been a continuation of Pope Francis in just about everything.

Recent polls show Prime Minister Victor Orban facing a serious challenge from Peter Magyar and the Tisza party who are holding a substantial lead heading towards the April election.

This is a sharp and rather unsettling observation Jay.

What stands out is not simply Orbán’s position, but the convergence of support around him. Hungary is effectively becoming a political meeting point where both Moscow and Washington see utility in the same leader — albeit for very different reasons.

From Putin’s perspective, Orbán represents a reliable voice inside the EU who can dilute unity, particularly on sanctions and Ukraine. From Trump’s side, he embodies a model of nationalist governance that resonates with parts of the American Right.

That dual endorsement is not just symbolic — it reflects a deeper realignment in international politics, where ideological affinity can override traditional alliance structures.

The real question is what this means for Europe.

If a sitting EU leader is simultaneously aligned — or at least compatible — with both the Kremlin and a future US administration, then the old assumptions about transatlantic cohesion no longer hold.

Hungary is no longer just “a difficult member state.”

It is becoming a geopolitical hinge.

Not curious at all. If it as if the mob bosses of Chicago, New York and Boston united to support each in his own turf. We can't allow mob bosses to be deposed.

The Trump administration's foreign policy is a headless chicken fumbling around. Zero strategy and zero planning, they attack a vassal state of the Kremlin while Trump is proud of his picture with war criminal Vladimir Putin. He goes after a tentacle of the octopus while blushing that he just took a picture with its head, there's no logic in it other than he's being blackmailed by the Kremlin. Is it just incompetence, or does he want to help Russia by causing a surge in oil prices with the war?

Morality clearly isn't a word in the dictionary of anyone in the administration, they still have yet to condemn a single war crime Russia has done in their invasion, and there's plenty of footage of them, more than once the Trump admin. has equated both sides in the war, ignoring the elephant in the room that one side does nonstop war crimes whole the other goes after military targets. Trump threatens Iran, but he has made so many empty threats to different people and countries that his words are likely to be taken as yet another dose of bravado.

While at war with Iran, he lifts sanctions on Iranian oil to help the world economy, he pretends to be neutral on the Russian invasion of Ukraine to be a mediator but he has only condemned Ukraine and treated the Kremlin with kid gloves all the time. Where are the hawkish media outlets who would analyze every nail he dropped and scrutinize every detail of what he says and does, now they're all silent when there's endless ammunition to make real criticism of his policies and strange, unexplained alignment with Russia, and not the nothing burgers about analyzing which prostitutes he was going out with. It's all very strange really.

Big Money And Jewish Political Influence And Fear Of The Antisemitic Label

AIPAC is in the background of primarying 2 incumbent Democrats Bowman in NYC and Bush in St Louis due to their opposition to Israeli defense spending against Palestinians Now AIPAC is clearly behind the right's attack on Muslim pacifist NY mayor Mamdani making this now a Middle East war carried to a religious culture war here in America

It's not totally clear how many of the American Jewish diaspora support Netanyahu's fascist regime and his "holy war" against Palestinian’s genocide and the Iranian war but one thing is becoming obvious: AIPAC leads the way with $$$ influence in promoting American Jewish interests D's need to get out of AIPAC's pocket and go it alone taking advantage of the political winds of dissent against fascist regimes, Israeli and American Is it antisemitic to raise questions about big money Jewish American influence? I think not(https://www.trackaipac.com/congress) D’s supported by AIPAC should stop getting $$$ from this perverted lobbying organization like AOC . Sanders, Balint, Welch, Jayapal, Lee, Velasquez, Omar, Tlaib, Pressley, van Hollan, Carson. Garcia, Ramirez, Frost, Simon, Grijalva, Pocan, Casar, and Merkley have done(20) Notice most recipients are Nazi Republicans in high Jewish and red state population centers

A prominent Democratic strategist Simon Rosenberg is a classic example of knowing which side of the bread is getting buttered When pushed about his opinion of Palestinian genocide Rosenberg is quick to point out that the Palestinians deserve the inhumane Israeli behavior due to the terrorist organization Hamas This same reasoning is used for the Iranian invasion I think Rosenberg is perversely but perfectly aligned with AIPAC and he's one of the primary movers in Democratic policy at the DNC which is why I have stopped donating to the organization and why the DNC could not be against the Palestinian genocide which lost them the Muslim vote in 2024 Muslims and Hispanic immigrants are the new boogeymen

"George F. Will wrote something pointed in a column last month: “Putin’s only sympathizer in the European Union, Hungary’s Viktor Orbán, might now have firmer support among American authoritarians (‘national conservatives’) than among Hungarians.”"

For similar reasons, the strongest supporters of Bibi Netanyahu are self-proclaimed "Christian Zionists" in the US who want to bring forward the Rapture. To them, Jewish folk are just human shields when they claim it arrives.

Bibi & his Christian Zionist stans, along with Orban's foreign fanboys, make up the Alliance of Sovereign Nations, or the "Mar-a-Lago Pact". It's 1 of 2 Axis powers the world is currently up against. The other is the Axis of Upheaval made up of the CRINK nations, of which Iran is the "I". Putin is the bridge between the 2 Axes.
