Many have paid the ultimate price fighting evil dictators. Alexei Navalny among the most prominent. Putin is a weak little man that hides in a gelded palace. He fears you and others. Thank you for your work.
“I will not stop and I will not hide.” Gary, you are a beacon of light in the darkness that threatens to envelop us all. You stand tall, and hold ‘em accountable. Bless you.
You can donate to Ukraine government efforts such as United24 or to a number of other on the ground charities such as for vehicles for paramedics to move injured military from the battlefront to medical clinics, or for volunteers to go into areas to move civilians and animals to safer areas.
If you would like more info on those I could certainly post some links for military and civilian contacts that I have there.
Here are a few Ukraine government links for you to explore:
Hang in there, Gary. You're one of the chess players by whom I'd most like to be flattened over the board, and perforated chess players don't play well! Putin and Trump are both cut from the same cloth, but Putin isn't a fool in the same way that Trump is. We need people like you, trying to unseat Putin. A joint Great Big Beautiful Obituary would be a boon so long as it doesn't also include a perforated or poisoned chess wizard...
Just curioys about what the plan would be if Euroclear (based in Belgium but s privatt listed company, not part of the state) released the frozen Russian funds. Most people who want sanctions against Russia to continue as long as the country is waging war against Ukraine etc. want the funds to remain unavailable to Russia(ns), be that the Russian sovereign fund or assets of oligarchs financially supporting Putin. Or do you mean release the funds vut not to return rhem to Russia but…? Five them to Ukraine, for example? The doenside if that would be future legal uncertainty to other countdies who may hesitate to hold funds in Europe if they thought one day their country might fall afoul of European policy and likewise lose their money. Gulf states, for example. Euroclear has shareholders it is responsible to/governed by, so it can’t just do what it or the EU/Belgian government may wish. It would be quite different if the funds were held with a central bank.
Aha, so by releasing the funds they don’t mean returning the money to the Russian state or the oligarchs from whom they were frozen. Then it makes more sense. Since almost the beginning of the sanctions, this was a subject of discussion and of the need for a legal basis. Freezing assets is commonplace in international law. The first issue that arose concerned oligarchs’ yachts that were the most mobile and visible assets to seize. But unlike money, which is fungible and sits on an account at the Eucroclear clearing and settlement institution earning interest, yachts deteriorate fast and need to be maintained at huge expense. So the idea that a state that seized a yacht would sell it off was raised, and at least three of them have since been sold at auction (cf Yachtwatch - https://alexzfinley.substack.com/p/yachtwatch-shadow-fleet-edition by former CIA officer Alex Finley). The interest from the frozen funds held in European financial institutions has been given to Ukraine each year after the European Commission decided in May 2024 to give the proceeds from those funds to Ukraine. That makes perfect sense, since why should Russia or its oligarchs profit from their frozen funds in any way while the war is ongoing. The new discussion now is whether to also give Ukraine the capital, which is a one-time thing after which there would be no further interest income to come. And the legal (un)certainty going forward remains an issue.
You can never trust law enforcement to be your personal security detail anywhere, including in this country. It is positive Garry has been warned, but he has to navigate life carefully to stay alive.

Putin's tool is in the White House.
He is definitely Putins’ “Useful Idiot”!

Stay safe please.
Mr. Kasparov, I have been a supporter of yours (and maybe even a fan) for many years. Keep up the good fight. Молодець!
Please accept my respectful thanks for your courage.

Are you familiar with Navalny's ideologies?
If you were than you would not be putting him on a pedestal.

You do realize the russian assets are frozen due to the fact they broke their legal agreement to not invade Ukraine, right?
They knew the consequences of their murderous destructive actions and yet they chose to proceed.
Therefore, they have had some of their items sanctioned and justifiably those funds now should be released to Ukraine.

Yes, those lobbying for their release mean releasing them to aid Ukraine.
You are not the only ones in America that Vova has targeted and harmed. At least law enforcement helps you.

Indeed. I am not saying that his life isn’t in danger. I’m conveying that he is not the only one directly impacted in like manner by the same baddies.
