You don’t keep your strength by allowing your enemy to seize territory and grow stronger. There is no positive outcome resulting in handing Ukraine to Russia.
If fear of Nuclear war prevents taking action in Ukraine, then that same fear will prevent action being taken when Russia invades Georgia or Finland. NATO is toothless. Putting an end to it would at least end the false sense of security keeping free countries vulnerable.
If Ukraine falls, Moldova will fall first in short succession. That’s just geography, it’s the next step for their troops beyond Ukraine.

NATO has a defined strategy for Ukraine with the overarching goal of preventing the conflict from escalating into a nuclear threat. That's why they have been cautious, perhaps too cautious. The capacity to fight is developed by the government, but the will to fight resides in the people of each European nation. This will must be assessed on a case-by-case basis, although it is directly related to proximity to Russia and the historical relationship each nation has with it.
