Charles Krauthammer made actual conservatives proud. He was the best. I miss his insight and wisdom.

Me, too. What broad intelligence he had and what deep wisdom and clear sighted vision. I might add that what we then called conservatives are gone and, as Krauthammer told us, that movement had already taken root.

I really like the way you put that.

I agree whole heartedly, and wholeheadedly.

Jay, I try not to post on American politics unless it directly affects Canada in some manner, regardless of how tangential.

Please consider this comment as it is offered.

For many years, I have been warned of the impending right wing fracture and the resulting movement toward authoritarianism, fascism, and the blind submission to authority.

In Canada, however, it is only from the left that we encounter the desire to punish “climate denialism”, Residential School skepticism, and the actual dismemberment of our Constitutional guardrails.

This is not a defence of Donald Trump in any fashion; I believe he is unfit to lead such a splendid people, and such an essential Nation.

This is not a criticism of Dr. Krauthammer, as the more I learn of him, the more I admire not only his stance, but his intellectual courage.

With respect, and without malice, I believe there is a difference- not only in degree- between barking out “they should be arrested” and “we recommend legislation to silence certain views”.

In a fit of anger, frustration, or astonishment, I too have muttered “they should be arrested” without actually meaning or believing what I said.

I, of course, am qualified to be nothing more than President of our condo board.

Please accept this note as it is offered.

I think Dr. Krauthammer would be thrilled to be remembered as you have shared.
