This is sad news. Jerome (Jerry) Cohen was on my Ph.D. Dissertation Committee at Harvard Graduate School and is the person responsible for my enrolling at Harvard Law. To say that Prof. Cohen was a significant influence in my life would be a gross understatement. My condolences to Jerry's wife, Joan, and to his sons, Peter, Seth and Ethan. At times I was like their big brother. That was many years ago.
I worry about the New and Improved Chinese Communist Corona Party (CCCP) everyday…as I rant on my made in Chi Na IPad by Uyghurs under arrest and concentrated in a work to death camp…for the crime of not being Hunan. I just cannot get the skyscraper size mural of Mao out of my head…and shake my head in disgust that a country of nearly two billion people is still misruled by a dick tator for life who a President of the United States affectionately respects, I mean referred to as “My friend Xi”…because, sorry to put it lightly, on your sober and judicious Substack page Jay, The Don could give a flyin f about the fate of someone that does not look like him and does not make him or his crime family $$$. Again, game respects game, and New York mob bosses definitely know to respect fellow mob bosses. I cannot believe it is not butter, I mean a Cheeto butthead grew up to be President of the United States. Resistance to our mob boss in chief is not futile, it is one’s moral duty. And our wannabe CCCP overlords very existence absolutely, positively needs to be declared by a courageous President an “Evil Empire”…but so long as Trumpers are amused to death and defend The Don while still sporting his dumb arse red hats…God help U.S. Thanks for taking my rant Onward and Upward. Cheeto and his Nazi regime want to provoke violence and make Americans feel less safe The game is fear and intimidation of the citizenry as seen yesterday in Chicago with an apartment raid that left the apartments trashed…many US citizens and children zip tied until released Cheeto has declared that the country is in an “armed conflict” with cartels as an excuse
Why else would the regime cut $$ for counterterrorism in blue cities recently reported cutting $1.5B in NYC which more broadly affects other regional communities? Cheeto has done away with other federal funding to cripple responses by local law enforcement There is little justification for such a policy except to make states and communities less safe and create cells of terrorists to maraud
This then gives Cheeto the excuse to use the military in communities as the strongman He keeps calling blue cities areas of hell and crime when nothing of the kind is happening But Cheeto needs an excuse to give himself extraordinary wartime powers
