The political outrage around the resumption of Russian diesel purchases overlooks a structural reality playing out across global energy chokepoints.

With throughput in the Strait of Hormuz severely impaired and Gulf crude flows being rerouted through higher-cost bypass corridors (East-West Pipeline to Yanbu, Habshan-Fujairah), the global middle distillate market-specifically ultra-low-sulfur diesel has become dangerously tight. War-risk premiums, prolonged transit voyages around Africa, and refinery capacity bottlenecks have created an acute supply deficit in the Atlantic basin.

Western security strategy cannot be separated from energy logistics. When physical diesel flows dry up and domestic pump margins spike ahead of an election cycle, realpolitik ruthlessly exposes the friction between political commitments and actual supply-chain resilience. If the West wants strategic autonomy from both Moscow and Middle Eastern chokepoints, securing refining redundancy and maritime corridors must be treated as frontline defense priorities, not secondary market concerns.

Russia should be totally shut off from the civilized world just like North Korea, Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran.

America is lost. The Dems are utterly useless. The rest of the West must defeat Putin.

Defeat Putin —> Defeat Trump.

I think you are calling this exactly as it is and I support all of your recommendations.

I predict the future:

When this all ends, Trump will be looking for a political refugee status in Russia and joining the ousted dictators' club in the Moscow suburb of Rublevka with ex presidents of Syria (Assad) and The Ukrain (Yanukovych).

How disgusted are we with Elon Musk? He clearly thinks being rich makes him qualified to be king of the world and do anything he wants. Actual world leaders (not trump) need to find ways to limit his dangerous unilateral control of global satellite and communication systems.

I'm probably a weirdo on the fringe, but I would support coordinated economic action from my country Canada, alongside the EU and affiliated friends, to remove Russian fuel supplies and bot farms from the market and make things much more clear for average US voters. I hope and also do not believe that the embasssies of the G20 are lighting up US Congressional phone lines this week.
