There's a mid-term Senate seat coming up in Georgia and I would not be at all surprised to see her run. After the mid-terms Trump will be a lame duck and the Republicans will all be re-positioning themselves for whatever post-Trump MAGA will become. I think this is her first step.

The question is: what’s she going to do now? Possibly run for some other state office. Until more is known, speculation about her possible future is pointless.

Also, she showed zero interest in joining the Democrats, or even becoming an independent.

There’s also no indication she’s abandoned any of numerous conspiracy theories.

IMHO, she can be redeemed if she recants her past actions and statements related to January 6. That’s it. I am not against circumstancial convergence regarding one particular issue. But redemption requires tru repentance.

Insider trading, kicking a Parkland survivor, the queen of disinformation, voted to cut off USAid, voted for the big beautiful bill, etc.. people don’t change but if she’s giving the dems additional power then just keep an eye on her, as distasteful as that sounds.

Exactly. She didn’t reform overnight. She qualified for her pension and didn’t like the hear from Trump so she quit.

Yes but why would you want to? Looks like Georgia’s version of Alabama’s Tommy Tuberville will replace her, so more of the same?

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will appoint MTG’s replacement. It seems likely but not certain he will choose 57 yo Derek Dooley, a football coach who’s the son of legendary Univ. of Georgia former coach Vince Dooley. Derek Dooley is a strong supporter of Governor Kemp. To be clear, no announcement yet and I could be wrong.

The only thing I want Marjorie to do is to continue standing with the Trumpstein victims. Don’t abandon them. You said you would stand on the house floor and name their rapists. I don’t give a shit about her future. The time is NOW to help these victims.

Sorry, no need to rehab MTG, she will live well on the stock $ she made in Congress and she will stay 2 days longer than necessary to assure her pension. She's an evil person. She's done nothing to redeem herself - a few words after years of cruelty to others, not enough. May what she did to others be done to her. Unfortunately, we will all pay her pension.

I have said even after she voted to release the Epstein files that I would never forgive her for the way she stalked David Hogg around DC, telling him she had a concealed carry permit and was carrying a gun. This has resurfaced lately, but I remembered it vividly from when it happened, because he and the others she was following were all Stoneman Douglas high shooter survivors and this was almost certainly retraumatizing.

But I think I would forgive her if she met with him and those with him and apologized and said she would work on gun safety issues with him. And meant it.

If she wants redemption she should not run away but stay in Congress and fight for saving this democracy. Anything other than that is cowardly and nothing more than taking her proverbial toys and going home at the first scuffle.

Hello - I grudgingly agree with your thoughts on MTG, and her place in Congress. If she could be relied upon to vote for the good of our country and its people, I would welcome her aboard either in the Dem party, or staying as a Republican. I think it would be a risk, though. I do agree with your broader idea that the Dems need to provide a way back in for Trump supporters and former supporters, and not just ostracize them during or when all this is over.
