If you know you're being trolled, you know you're doing a great job! Your voice is undeniably important and always, I not only enjoy your thoughtful comments, but largely agree with them too.
“A country will still have national security interests even if it suffers from poor leadership, and we should be careful not to dismiss those interests simply because there is a Trump or Netanyahu in charge. That’s true in Israel, America, and around the world.”
This is a fair enough point, but considering the person we are talking about who has had nothing but bad intentions for years, and the fact that they are also attacking civilian targets in Iran, I still think you are wrong about the full intent and objectives here.
Now, I agree that the planning of the attack was absolutely likely in the works a long time ago, and maybe even well before the Gaza conflict. But, the timing of it is absolutely suspicious and coupled with the clear intention of dragging the madman in the Oval Office into yet another “regime change” conflict we don’t need, I find it hard to believe this was just about destroying Nuclear capabilities. And on that point, why is Iran not allowed to have a Nuke? I personally believe it would bring stability to the region because it would put a Nuclear Israel in check. The recent short lived conflict between India and Pakistan comes to mind.
Additionally, why is it that the West gets to dictate who has Nukes when we have seen over and over bad intentions in the guise of democracy and freedom? Regime change should be up to the people and that should not matter whether it’s Iran, Iraq, Vietnam, Israel or America.
Saying “But Bibi” is just as worthless a comment as “But Iraq”
1. A poll was released the Friday morning before the attack. Nearly 80% of Israelis supported a pre-emptive attack (a 7% chunk thought it might be too late). Israelis have little unity on any subject except this
2. Subsequent polls showed the same nearly universal support at least by the Jewish Israeli population (you can see the poll here and you can use AI to translate: https://idi.org.il/articles/59725. Lots of nuance here but the overwhelming majority support the war and don’t think of it as Bibi’s war. Stop cherry picking deranged Bibi haters to claim Israelis in significant numbers oppose this.
3. Except for the communist & the Muslim brotherhood parties, the other 4 largest opposition parties expressed full support for the war
Sure a large majority of Israelis (myself included) feel it’s long time for Bibi to retire, but this has very small impact on what most Israelis think about the necessity of this attack.
The Iranian regime has expressed clear intent to eliminate Israel & its people for decades. For decades it has planned & funded a genocidal war against Israel & the Jewish people. The Hamas 10/7 attack was part of that. The only way to end the war that has been going on since 10/7 is to severely weaken the IRGC dictatorship militarily, economically & politically.

Badfellas. A Clown. A Fanatic. And a Murderer.
I regard to Israel/Iran, I think the Rumsfeld Ontology sums up the situation pretty well…
Hi Garry. I'm writing a five part series on the antecedents of the Iran/Israeli conflict. Here's part III

I’ve read you for a while. Enough. Unfollowed.
