All well and good but I note your comments about trump needing to be “mindful”, changing his approach, flexing his muscles etc. the point you’re missing is that the man is an incompetent fool who doesn’t have the intellectual skill to consider the points you have rightly made. On top of that is the early self-evident cognitive decline that comes with his age.

America has a person at its helm who is incredibly self-absorbed and has the intellect of a primary school kid. The normative strategies you recommend are beyond him.

"Missed opportunity" sounds as if mr trump WANTED to do anything about putistan.

It is so far from the reality so i would treat this article as pure fiction or suggestion to the next president of US (if elections will ever happen).

This is so cute! Hopefully the next article will be about how Pres. Putin could turn his career around and be remembered as the man who brought democracy to Russia.

Trump has the Epstein file and Putin has the Trump file.

Why else would an American president bow down to an enemy?

"If Trump sincerely wants a just peace for Ukraine, as he proclaims," Oh please...smh, It's not the 90's anymore and Trump is an enemy of all that's good and just.

Reading this alongside today’s summit, the pattern is clear: the window for a meaningful ceasefire continues to move. The fact that European leaders rushed to Washington shows how much they want to anchor the talks before momentum slips away again.

Trump has no interest in even learning about why Russian sanctions and weapons to Ukraine are needed against Putin. He has zero knowledge of Russia’s or Putin’s history, rise to power, suppression of media and freedoms, severe repression of Russian’s rights, and looting of the country for his own personal gain.He just wants a quick deal and a Nobel Prize. He’s an ignoramus.

The reason the Sociopath in Chief has not transferred the frozen Rooskie assets to Ukraine is that Trump is still trying to figure out how to steal said assets.

No.

Now hear this:

Ukraine is an independent sovereign nation, the key concept which Putin, Trump, and the author of this piece need to grasp. “United States’ SOVEREIGN INTERESTS”?? Wrong wording there, and please stop trying to normalize the idea that Ukraine is just a piece of meat to be divvied up among the hyenas.

Part of the problem is the concentration the news media has put on just the minerals deal aspect of the proposal that Trump tried to jam down President Zelenskyy‘s throat in that memorably inappropriate meeting in the White House earlier in the year. What they are talking about behind the scenes is compelling Ukraine to give up its military; its defense industry; its political autonomy and its national sovereignty to become an exploited slave state to those salivating sadists coveting the lithium deposits.

Ukraine has not lost this war. In fact, Russia is in a worse predicament even without the war in that their demographics are collapsing inevitably, and adding over 1 million casualties from an unnecessary war has just pushed the Russian demographics over the edge that much sooner. Not only did they require troops from North Korea to fill the ranks, but they are trying to bring in workers from India, as well. They have been recruiting workers in different African countries (gonna, for example) on the false pretenses that they won’t be drafted into the army. Once those deceived workers get there—surprise! They are pressed into military service and sent to the front. Such manpower gambits do not allude to a Russian victory, so we must look further to see why Trump is allowing Putin to Lord it over him/the US/and Ukraine, as if he was the victor. Well, what does Trump owe Putin? Even aside from whether you consider the Dossier as valid or not, Putin publicly stated that he had given a lot of help to Trump in the elections and he expected repayment. Like every capo di capi, Putin is not one to deceive about money. Whether he also holds some kind of blackmail material remains to be seen, but he has been taunting Trump with the naked pictures of Melania broadcast on Russian state TV to the chortling delight of the program’s hosts. Obviously that’s very disrespectful of Trump as a man, and as a husband, never mind as president of the country that Putin designates as, “Enemy #1.”

I think the answer to this question came when Trump left the meeting with our European allies to hold a 40 minute call with Putin.

Excellent advice for a regular President. Nothing regular about Trump. He has no true understanding of any of it- not real war, the hardship people face in the destruction, any of it. He is a not too intelligent narcissist whose delusions of grandeur interfere with his goals, which are really only meant to benefit himself. Add to that Putin outplaying and manipulating him at every turn. At this point only the corrupt cabal within the Supreme Court allows him the illusion of his prowess. Perhaps the Heritage Foundation can present him a Peace Prize. Gold, of course.
