I look forward to some great reading Garry. I particularly enjoyed your interview with my previous commander Stan McChrystal.

Your knowledge of Russian and American history / politics is unique. Is there any chance Putin will end his war of Russian Empire except by military resistance? https://bruceisaacson756355.substack.com/p/history-and-war

Having worked (remotely) with many Russians, Belorussians, and Lithuanians on my last job, I think the "accent" shows up in phrases like "who are capable to persuade," where a native English speaker would say "who are capable of persuading." Technically correct English, but a tell nonetheless.

I too loved that phrase, "An Iron Curtain of the Mind." I understand the need for privacy, but sharing information is an essential act towards freedom.

I am reminded of employers who negotiate compensation with individual employees and sternly caution them to not discuss what they make with others, sternly implying that doing is a firing offense.

"And, by the way, as a Russian, I can detect English written with a Muscovite accent. )))"

Does that include asking how's the weather in St Petersburg?
